Notice re Budget’s Upcoming Discontinuance of Service in MassachusettsBudget Mobile is seeking to relinquish its authority as an eligible telecommunication carrier (ETC) for Lifeline wireless service in Massachusetts and will soon no longer be providing wireless Lifeline service. In order to keep your Lifeline benefit, you will be required to transfer your service to another local provider authorized to offer Lifeline. If you do not transfer your existing Lifeline wireless service prior to the date Budget Mobile is permitted to stop offering Lifeline service -- which Budget anticipates happening in July 2017, you risk losing your Lifeline benefit.
In an effort to help with this transition of service, you may access Massachusetts Department of Telecommunications and Cable at (617) 305-3580 or online at http://www.mass.gov/ocabr/government/oca-agencies/dtc-lp/competition-division/telecommunications-division/consumer-info/link-up-and-lifeline-what-consumers-should-know.html, or the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) at http://www.lifelinesupport.org/ls/default.aspx to see a list of service providers offering Lifeline in Massachusetts.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding Budget's discontinuance of operations or on how to transfer your Lifeline benefit to another Lifeline provider in Massachusetts, please e-mail Budget Mobile at [email hidden] or call Budget Mobile at (318) 671-5784.
